How to prepare Almond milk at Home

Creating a great Almond Milk Recipe


1 1/2 cup raw almonds ( soaked overnight )
1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
salt to taste
ground cinnamon to taste

And now here it goes


1. Place almonds in a large bowl and add enough water to fill the bowl. Soak almonds at room temperature overnight or till it becomes plumped after soaking.

2. Drain almonds and transfer to a blender and blend them.
(Add a spoon full of water to get a paste like consistency).

3.Bring a kettle full of water fill to boil and set them aside.

4.Transfer the paste into a medium bowl and add 2 cups of boiling water and let it steep for 10-15 minutes.

5. Now, this step is crucial, because you need to work in parts.

If you have multiple strainers varying in different sizes, keep them over one another and place the paste and press from medium to small to fine strainer over a large bowl. Pressing the almonds with the back of a spoon will help you to extract as much as possible liquid as possible.
(If you don’t have varying sizes of strainers go with anyone available but remember to press the paste multiple times)

6. After collecting all the extracted liquid as much as possible, add honey or maple syrup, vanilla extract, a pinch of salt and cinnamon if you feel the need to have it.

7.Whisk it thoroughly to combine all the ingredients and serve.
It will yield 4 cups
