1. Decrease Items that Run on Startup
If your computer takes a bit longer time to start up, the first thing you need to do is see everything it starts when you hit the power button.
To do this, Tap on the Windows button, click “run,” and then type “msconfig” in the dialogue box. Click on the “Startup” tab. Some things you want to leave alone. For example, your Antivirus. On the other hand items such as Adobe Acrobat or Google Toolbar Notifier, you don’t need to startup with your computer.
2. Clean Your Drive
Clean up your drives by typing “cleanmgr.exe” into the run menu dialog box to access Disk Cleanup. It is a computer maintenance utility to free up disk space on the hard drive of the computer.
3. Scan For And Remove Viruses and Spyware
In addition to performing regular scans on your computer for viruses and malware, you should also regularly scan for viruses and spyware.
Access your antivirus and perform a scan. You can schedule these monthly. Make sure that you do so when you won’t be using the computer. Also, having more than one antivirus on your computer will slow it down, so it is suggested that a single antivirus should be there on your system.
4. Clear your “Temp” folder files
Files in Temp folder are useless. It is always suggested to permanently delete those files because these files slow down your system. You can access them by typing %temp% into the run dialog box.
